Chennai – The Gateway to So


Day - 1:

Arrive Chennai. On arrival, you will be met and assisted by our representative and transfer to hotel of your choice. Check in at your hotel.

Proceed for a sightseeing visit of the ever popular Marina Beach : Golden sand, good surf and a shimmering clean blue sea; this in a nutshell is Marina beach. This beach is counted among one of the longest beaches in Asia.

Continue sightseeing Theosophical Society - On a vast expanse of over 250 acres on the banks of the Adyar estuary lies the more-than-a-century-old Theosophical Society, amidst the woods, marshes, gardens and waters.

Evening at leisure / free for shopping. Chennai is one of the major trading centres in South India. It provides a good market for not only bulk purchasers but also offers many items for tourist shoppers. The traditional handicraft and handloom items are very popular among tourists. The south silk has been a rage among the women for centuries.

The Victoria Technical Institute at Mount Road is known for selling quality products in Handicraft, Handmade clothing and Batik greeting cards. The best place to purchase some art and crafts item is the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in the Temple tower. This place is tastefully decorated and has products from all over India.

Overnight at hotel.

Day - 2:

Enjoy Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram - Located at a distance of 58-km from Chennai, Mahabalipuram has everything that makes a site memorable; tradition, history, piety, western annals, and current importance as a centre of tourism.

The history of Mahabalipuram dates back to two thousand years, it contains nearly forty monuments of different types including an "open air bas relief" which is the largest in the world, for centuries it has been a centre of pilgrimage, it figures in the early annals of the British search for the picturesque in India in the 18th century, today it attracts shoals of foreigners in search of relaxation and sea bathing, and most strange of all, it has an atomic power plant for neighbor. A small library has been written on it. Over its history and that of its monuments a number of scholarly controversies rage.

Overnight at hotel.

Day - 3:

Enjoy Breakfast at hotel. Check out and transfer to nearest railway station / airport for your onward journey.
